Product(s) FAQs

I’m confused, some of your services seem to be products, what gives?

Good question, allow us to clarify. Our “Executive Staffing” service is also a product line. i.e., One of our nine services is oriented toward “executive staffing” vacancies and we also offer a “Gamma” product that is focused in the same niche. There’s just no way around having both an executive staffing service and product. Sometimes clients require staffing assistance via an annual retainer (the Gamma product) and other times they request a less structured arrangement.

Your flowchart lists many services, is any one a core competency?

As an Analyst, by definition, Joseph has strong analytical skills. So our eleven analytical services should be collectively considered a single competency. But so are all G2 services; especially the strategy development offering. G2 is unique because we are both tactically proficient (i.e., we can perform “tasks”) and strategically focused. The way we achieve this balance is by creatively combining our services to meet your needs while addressing your long-term business concerns. Though we are strong in analytics and strategy development, we feel the fact that we provide nine other services is what differentiates us from many other consultants. In short, we maintain strong tactical skills and powerful strategic planning expertise.

I see “research” listed, is G2 a market research firm?

Not really, but “kind of”. Some “number houses” focus exclusively on surveys and statistical analysis thereof. i.e., “Market Research”. Though G2 has conducted some very large studies in the past, we do not bill ourselves as a pure market research firm. Instead, we’d rather be considered a “research firm with market research capabilities”.

How do you define your “research” service?

As clarified above, G2 is focused on providing clients with virtually any form of research required to provide a competitive edge. This may involve small market research studies, statistical research, competitive research, literature reviews, etc. As such, “research” and “analytical” services are nearly analogous. The difference is our analytical services are technically defined as eleven unique analyses. Conversely, we do not limit our research services to a fixed set of topics. Huh? All you really need to know is this – G2 can research the answer to most any business question. Period.

How do I choose the best G2 product?

The short answer is by reviewing our pricing table and speaking with G2. The hard part is determining if you need an ad hoc consulting engagement (Beta project) at a negotiated rate for a fixed interval of time or do you need services rendered over the course of a year for a fixed fee (Alpha product). Perhaps the best way of answering your question is to suggest you review our pricing table and then match our products to both your urgent needs and your long-term (one year) requirements. The general rule of thumb is the Alpha product provides more flexibility because your hours may be used on any project over the course of a year. So once you determine your projects and we estimate your time requirement, then all you have to do is determine the timing of your projects. If you only need G2 for a “burst” of analysis for a short time period, then the Alpha product may be best. Keep in mind, when you purchase an Alpha product you may utilize the hours whenever you wish during the year. If you purchase an Alpha product and request an intensive analysis that consumes your hours in a month – then so be it. However, if at the end of your project should you have hours remaining, you may use them any time over the course of the contract. We aim to please.

How do you define “ad hoc” consulting?

We define ad hoc to mean “a la carte” or “on an as needed basis”. Typically our ad hoc consulting product is selected when you have a single project or objective in mind. i.e., A competitive analysis or a feasibility study. Hence, ad hoc consulting products usually address specific needs while the Alpha subscription satisfies many diverse requirements over the course of the annual plan.

What does “subscription” mean?

We’ve toyed with may versions of our Alpha product name. After much debate, we concluded it best to classify it as an “annual subscription retainer”. Simply put, this means a one year “subscription” to ANY G2 service provided under a standard retainer contract.

If we require executive staffing services, who conducts the work?

That one is easy: Joseph. G2 is a sole propietorship that DBA “Joseph Villarosa”. He’s the only person that would fill your open head count.

Can we switch from one product to another?

This one is tricky and may require legal counsel. But here goes…

If you purchase our ad hoc (Beta) consulting product and later decided you’d like to switch to the Alpha yearly subscription product — that may be possible under certain situations. Let’s just say we won’t rule it out. That said, we’ll have to discuss the situation if the case arises. We typically do whatever it takes to keep you happy.
