IDC’s Networking Vendor Channel Study Is Good News For VARs

Talk about starting the millennium off on a positive note! Howza’bout affirmation from one of the top market research firms that if you are a networking equipment VAR, you’re not only loved, but needed by the major vendors? Not a bad way to kick-off the new year, huh?

International Data Corp. (IDC) recently completed an important study entitled “Successful Service Strategies For the Network Channel: A Competitive Overview And Analysis” that found networking vendors rely heavily on the VAR channel in order to extend their reach to customers, and will continue to do so in the future. The major focus of this research was on network services and support offered by vendors to channel partners, VARs and other resellers. IDC did a great job of taking a very difficult subject and distilling it to meaningful terms.
