Some places our work has been published:
- Joseph has written hundreds of professional publications totaling thousands of pages ranging from analyst market research reports to nationally syndicated magazine articles. - The first is a tabbed summary containing:
- Bibliography (4 pages)
- Yankee Group publications (201 pages)
- Gartner Group publications (83 pages)
- Forbes Magazine (9 Pages)
- A compendium (300 pages)
- The second is found below the tabbed section and contains 14 VARBusiness Magazine articles.
Our goal is merely to share examples of actual publications. To review the types of G2 publications, please click here.
Section 1: Bibliography, Yankee, Gartner, Forbes and other works.
This is a partial bibliography of some of Joseph’s work. Please see the other tabs for actual publications.
Joseph was an Analyst and Research Director at the prestigious Yankee Group. To follow, please find some of his Yankee publications.
Joseph was the founder and first Senior Analyst / Research Director of Gartner Group’s original Healthcare Technology practice. Regarded by many as the finest health tech think tank in the world. At Gartner, Joseph published a host of work under the following mastheads:
- Gartner Group Corp.
- New Science (a healthcare spinoff of Gartner)
- Dunn & Bradstreet (where technically Joseph was employed as an Analyst due to the fact that Gartner was majority owned by D&B)
While at Yankee Group, Joseph’s SMB practice was retained by Forbes Magazine to produce a special technology edition. He was responsible for editing the entire publication and was also a contributing author / journalist / analyst.
To follow, please find a compendium of 300 pages of sample works. If you like, you may open this or any of the other embedded writings in an expanded view by clicking the below “Fullscreen” button.

The problem? You are a VAR or tech vendor needing to increase your sales to small and medium sized businesses (SMBs), but lack vital channel data and are therefore unable to develop a fully successful sales strategy. The solution? Consider supplementing your VARBusiness derived knowledge with the results from Access Media International’s (AMI-USA) upcoming SMB [...]
Cisco Systems (NSDQ:CSCO) Inc. launched its Resource Network program several months ago and since then has attracted a lot of attention–and for good reason. The program consists of a small and midsize business (SMB) and a VAR component which, when combined, provide both with a series of benefits whose total exceeds the sum of their [...]
“Pssst…hey you, yeah you, wanna buy a Unix server? Look-e-here, look-eBay (NSDQ:EBAY).” On Dec. 14, Sun Microsystems Inc. began an innovative trial program to auction a select group of products on the eBay Web auction site. Now, auctioning equipment online is certainly nothing new, but this channel strategy is unlike any you’ve ever heard of [...]
Talk about starting the millennium off on a positive note! Howza’bout affirmation from one of the top market research firms that if you are a networking equipment VAR, you’re not only loved, but needed by the major vendors? Not a bad way to kick-off the new year, huh? International Data Corp. (IDC) recently completed an [...]
I’ve been waiting a long time to write about a tech vendor who places education high on their priority list. As evidenced by the recent licensing and Web hosting alliance between 3Com and SmartPlanet.com–it looks like my wish finally come true. To fully appreciate 3Com’s strategy, you should first understand that one of my perennial [...]
Unless you’ve been living in a cave during the past several months, I’m sure you’ve been hearing lots about the “free” PC/Net rage. You know, companies such as Freei.net, FreeMac.com, Netzero.com, Altavista.com, Directweb.com, FreeDSL.com, FreePC.com, InterSquid.com, Gobi.com and a slew of others are allegedly giving away PCs and/or Internet access.
I’ve received a number of comments on last week’s article about the “free” PC/Net movement. VARs, vendors and analysts seem united in the opinion that no one wants yet another free PC/NET article. It was suggested that I provide only the facts by structuring this series around a number of FAQs. You ask, I deliver. [...]
Welcome to part three in the series “The ‘free’ PC/Net movement as it relates to VARs.” In keeping with part one and part two, I have taken VARBusiness readers suggestions to follow a FAQ format. For this installment, I have selected top questions to address.
Welcome to the fourth and final installment of my series on the “free” PC/Net movement. Today we examines the limitations and advantages all VARs need to understand as the customer base shifts from consumers to small to midsize businesses (SMBs). What are the limitations of the “free” PC/Net movement which VARs should be aware of? [...]
Picture this–you’re a VAR who faces a common dilemma in that many of your small and midsize business (SMB) clients need to establish a Web presence and quickly become Net connected, though you lack a reasonably priced, yet robust solution package. Furthermore, your customers can’t afford a high-end thin server solution, nor do they want [...]
Nortel Networks and Safeco Corp. recently invested $35 million in workplace eCommerce solutions provider Concur Technologies Inc., which together with some technical help from the folks in Redmond, Wash., will leverage the power of Internet procurement for small and midsize businesses (SMBs).
During the past few months I’ve received a number of e-mails from readers, colleagues and associates asking me how I manage to keep up with the daily barrage of techie news. Well, here’s my secret. In the near distant past, I was forced to read a few dozen techie journals and several business magazines each [...]
There’s a new kid on the block and you’d be well advised to watch this one closely because they aren’t your typical telco. 2nd Century Communications represents an exciting new breed of CLEC meets ASP, meets outsourced IT provider, called an “e.LEC.” So “what’s an e.LEC” you ask? 2nd Century is the nations first e.LEC [...]
